Jets Clinch Berth in Stanley Cup Playoffs for Sixth Time in Seven Seasons

Four rounds of #NHLStats as the Jets vie for the first Stanley Cup in their 24-season history (13th in Winnipeg):

Adam Lowry and Mark Scheifele are the only current Jets who have been part of every playoff appearance since the club landed in Winnipeg, with Lowry skating in all 44 contests. Scheifele is the franchise leader in playoff goals and ranks second in points behind Blake Wheeler, who Lowry succeeded as captain this season.

Connor Hellebuyck, another Jets cornerstone, owns every postseason win in franchise history (17) and has played in all but eight of its playoff games (83%). He is one of four goaltenders in NHL history with all of a franchise’s playoff wins and can best Georges Vezina on a unique list by earning the Jets’ next win (more below).

Kyle Connor also has played in 83% of the club’s all-time playoff games and along with Nikolaj Ehlers accounts for three of its four playoff overtime goalsJosh Morrissey occupies a top-three spot on the franchise’s all-time lists for playoff goalsassists and points among defensemen.

* New faces include trade acquisitions Alex IafalloGabriel VilardiSean Monahan and Stanley Cup champion Tyler Toffoli (2014 LAK). Another new but familiar face, Laurent Brossoit, has the only other Cup on Winnipeg’s roster – he went 4-1 versus the Jets last spring to eliminate his former club and help Vegas claim its first title.

More #NHLStats
Connor HellebuyckPhilipp Grubauer (7 w/ SEA), Gary Smith (3 w/ Oakland Seals franchise) and Roy Worters (1 w/ Pittsburgh Pirates franchise) are the only netminders with all of an NHL franchise’s postseason wins. Hellebuyck can become the first goaltender in NHL history to claim each of a franchise’s first 18 playoff wins (he enters 2024 tied with Georges Vezina who had Montreal’s first 17 NHL playoff wins from 1918 to 1925).

Rick Bowness, 69, can become the oldest head coach in NHL history to win a Stanley Cup – only Scotty Bowman (ages 6864 & 63) and Dick Irvin (age 60) have won after their 60th birthday. Bowness started his NHL coaching career as an assistant with the originalJets during the 1980s when the “Winnipeg Whiteout” began.

Mark Scheifele (0.67 G/GP) has the fourth-highest goals-per-game rate in Stanley Cup Playoffs history while playing for the designated road team (min. 10 GP), behind Leon Draisaitl (0.76), Jack Darragh (0.73) and Jack Adams (0.70). This stat includes games involving non-NHL clubs.
