NEW YORK – Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Green Bay Packers defensive lineman Micah Parsons and San Francisco 49ers kicker Eddy Piñeiro are the NFC Players of the Month for October (Weeks 5-8).

OFFENSE: WR JAXON SMITH-NJIGBA, SEATTLE SEAHAWKS

  • Smith-Njigba recorded 24 receptions for 417 yards and three touchdowns in three games during the month of October, including eight receptions, 100 receiving yards and a touchdown catch in each game. He was the only player with at least 100 receiving yards in three games from Weeks 5-8.
  • This is Smith-Njigba’s first-career Player of the Month honor and he becomes the second Seahawks wide receiver to earn Offensive Player of the Month honors, joining Tyler Lockett (December, 2015).
  • Smith-Njigba is the fourth former Ohio State wide receiver back to earn Offensive Player of the Month, joining Pro Football Hall of Famer Cris Carter (November, 1999), Ted Ginn Jr. (November, 2009), and Michael Thomas (November, 2019).

DEFENSE: DL MICAH PARSONS, GREEN BAY PACKERS

  • Parsons was the only player in the NFC this month to record three sacks in a game (Week 8 at Arizona) and finished October with four sacks, tied for the second most in the NFC and five tackles for loss, tied for the third most. Green Bay was the only NFC team to go undefeated (3-0) from Weeks 5-8.
  • The award marks Parsons second-career Player of the Month honor (September, 2023 with Dallas). He is the first Packer to win Defensive Player of the Month since Xavier McKinney (October, 2024).
  • Parsons is the second former Penn State defensive player to earn multiple Defensive Player of the Month awards, joining Sean Lee.

SPECIAL TEAMS: K EDDY PIÑEIRO, SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS

  • Piñeiro made all 16 of his kicks (10 of 10 field goals and six of six on point after attempts) during the month of October, including four of four 50-yard field goal attempts. His 36 points tied for the most in the NFC and he is one of three kicks this season to make 100 percent of his field goal attempts (minimum 10 attempts).
  • This marks the first-career Player of the Month honor for Piñeiro and he becomes the first 49ers special teams player to receive the award since punter Mitch Wishnowsky (September, 2022).
