Guardians sign RHP Tyler Beede

CLEVELAND, OH – The Cleveland Guardians today announced the following addition to their 2024 Major League Spring Training camp roster:

Signed free agent RHP Tyler Beede to Minor League contract with a non-roster invitation to Major League camp.

Beede, 30, spent 2023 with Japan’s Yomiuri Giants, posting a 3.99 ERA in 30 outings which included an Opening Day start. The Auburn, MA native was selected twice in the first round of the MLB Draft in 2011 (21st overall, TOR) and again in 2014 (14th overall, SFG) after a standout collegiate career at Vanderbilt. He debuted with the Giants in 2018 and went on to make 33 appearances/24 starts for the Giants thru 2022 before finishing that season with the Pirates.
