Guardians, Blue Jays complete trade

CLEVELAND, OH – The Cleveland Guardians today announced the following transactions relative to the 40-man roster:

Acquired RHP Wes Parsons from the Toronto Blue Jays in exchange for International Bonus Pool money ($250,000); optioned to AAA Columbus.

Transferred RHP Shane Bieber (right elbow injury) to the 60-day Injured List.

Parsons, 31, has spent the last two seasons in the Toronto Blue Jays organization, signing with Toronto in May 2023 after spending 2021 and ’22 pitching in Korea. He opened the 2024 season in the Toronto bullpen, making two relief appearances before being designated for assignment on Apr. 5 (6ER/5.0IP). The 6-5 right-hander originally signed with the Atlanta Braves in 2012, debuting with the Braves in 2018 before latching on with the Colorado Rockies. The Clarksville, TN native owns 36 ML appearances over parts of four seasons since his 2018 debut.
