HARRISON, NJ – Headlined by some of the greatest players in global women’s soccer, reigning National Women’s Soccer League champions Gotham FC and the newly-crowned,  seven-time Women’s Super League champions Chelsea FC Women today announced that they will face off on Monday, Aug. 19 at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, New Jersey. Kick-off is set for at 7 p.m. ET.  The match will mark each team’s return to action after the conclusion of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, providing a meaningful competitive opportunity against a quality opponent.

Beginning today, Monday, May 20 at 10 a.m. ET,  season ticket members and supporters groups for both Gotham FC and Chelsea FC will have exclusive first access to purchase tickets to the match during a three-day priority presale. Following the presale, tickets will be available to the general public on Thursday, May 23 at 10 a.m. ET.

The powerhouse matchup on Aug. 19 will feature some of the world’s best women’s soccer talents going head-to-head, as Chelsea prepares to kick off preseason and Gotham FC prepares to re-enter league play.

Stacked with superstars, Gotham FC has U.S. Women’s National Team forward Lynn Williams – who just broke the NWSL’s all-time, all-competitions goal-scoring record, and goalkeeper Ann-Katrin Berger – who recently transferred to Gotham from Chelsea and has led the club to a five-game unbeaten streak since her first appearance. Chelsea boasts USWNT forward Cat Macário and veteran defender Millie Bright – who captained England’s Lioness to the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup Final.

The showcase event will arrive in the tri-state area as the two clubs unite to elevate and champion the professional women’s game, its players, and women’s sports, working hand-in-hand towards Gotham FC’s vision to become the global capital of women’s soccer and Chelsea FC’s aims to continue to grow its audience in the U.S.
