Gotham FC Signs Forward Ella Stevens to Multiyear Contract

HARRISON, NJ – NJ/NY Gotham FC today announced the club has signed restricted free agent and forward Ella Stevens to a multiyear contract through 2025, with an option for 2026.
 
“I am thrilled for this next chapter and to join Gotham,” said Stevens. “It is a very exciting time for the club and the fans, and I am really looking forward to this upcoming season.”
 
Stevens joins Gotham FC from the Chicago Red Stars, where she was selected as the 24th overall pick in the 2020 NWSL Draft. The forward appeared in 22 matches in the 2023 regular season, recording 16 starts, 1,307 minutes, four goals, and one assist. With four goals, she was tied for most goals scored for the Red Stars last season.
 
“Ella is a very hard-working forward, who can affect the game on the attacking and defensive end,” said Gotham FC Head Coach Juan Carlos Amorós. “She is a great fit for our system, and I am excited to work with her.”
 
In the 2022 season, the forward started in 10 games and appeared in 19 games, recording 769 minutes, four goals, and two assists. She appeared in five matches in the 2021 season.
 
“We are excited to have a player with Ella’s skill set and quality join the club,” said Gotham FC General Manager and Head of Soccer Operations Yael Averbuch West. “Ella adds another layer of depth to our frontline, and we are excited to see her grow and thrive at Gotham.”
 
Before embarking on a professional career, the Grayson, Georgia native played at Duke University, where she was named to the 2019 United Soccer Coaches All-Atlantic Region Second Team and 2019 All-ACC Second Team, among other honors.
