Lando Norris is having the time of his life in 2024. Back in May, the Englishman won his first-ever Formula 1 race. Fast-forward to August and the McLaren driver has won his second race. Then, in September, he won his third. On top of that, he finished on the podium on another seven occasions.
As a result, Norris is now second in the 2024 F1 World Drivers’ Championship standings. The point gap between him and the leader, Max Verstappen, is still pretty big. He’s trailing by 52 points, but there’s plenty of time to get closer or even leapfrog the defending champ.
There are six races left before the 2024 F1 season wraps up, and three of those also feature sprints (up to 9 additional points). One of those is the US Grand Prix, which Norris is favored to win at +115..
He came very close to winning this event last season, finishing second in the end, just behind Verstappen.
Max Verstappen is without a win in the last eight races, but he did well in the most recent race when we saw him finish second. A month has passed since, and you can be certain that he and his Red Bull team have done a thorough job preparing for the event in Austin. They’re probably looking forward to the race very much as this is one of Verstappen’s most favorite events. He’s the man who won this race in each of the last three seasons.
