Evolution’s Response to UK Gambling Commission’s License Review

Evolution has been notified by the UK Gambling Commission that it has initiated a review of Evolution Malta Holding Limited’s operating license under Section 116 of the Gambling Act 2005. This review commenced after the Commission discovered that Evolution games were accessible from the UK through operators not holding a Commission license.

The review could result in various outcomes, including no action, the imposition of conditions on the license, financial sanctions, suspension, or revocation of the license to operate.

Evolution is fully cooperating with the Commission and has promptly taken the necessary actions to address the issue. The company has ensured that games on websites not holding a Commission license are no longer accessible from the UK. Evolution is actively working with the Commission to resolve the matter.

The UK market constitutes about 3% of Evolution’s revenue.

Martin Carlesund, CEO of Evolution, stated, “Evolution embraces the objectives of the review by the Commission. We are committed to supporting the licensed UK market as well as preventing unlicensed traffic. We are now taking forceful action using all technical tools available to us to ensure that our games are only available in the UK through Commission-licensed operators. We believe that a close collaboration to address our joint concerns will lead to swifter and better results. As always, we remain committed to an open and transparent relationship with our regulators.”
