LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Dodgers recalled right-handed pitcher Landon Knack and optioned right-handed pitcher Eduardo Salazar to Triple-A.
Knack, 26, will make his Major League debut this afternoon as he will start against the Nationals in the rubber match of the three-game series. This will be his second stint with the Dodgers as he was a part of the Seoul Series Opening Day roster but did not appear in a game. He made three starts for Triple-A Oklahoma City this season, allowing seven runs in 15.2 innings with 16 strikeouts. Last season, he split the campaign between Double-A Tulsa and Triple-A Oklahoma City and went a combined 5-1 with a 2.51 ERA and 99 strikeouts in 100.1 innings. He has made 58 appearances (53 starts) in the minor leagues, and he has racked up 277 strikeouts in 243 innings while opponents have hit .236 against the Tennessee native. He was drafted by the Dodgers in the second round of the 2020 First Year Player Draft out of East Tennessee State University.
Salazar, 25, was added to the roster last night but did not play in the game. He went 1-0 with a 2.57 ERA in three Triple-A starts this season. The Cumana, Venezuela native pitched for the Cincinnati Reds in 2023, allowing 11 runs in 12.1 innings while notching his first Major League win on June 6 against the Dodgers. He has pitched in 144 games (79 starts) in his minor league career, going 24-25 with a 4.33 ERA and 432 strikeouts in 484 innings. He signed a minor league contract with the Dodgers on November 16, 2023.
