Detroit Casinos Generate $98.9 Million in September 2025 Revenue

The Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) reported that Detroit’s three commercial casinos — MGM Grand Detroit, MotorCity Casino, and Hollywood Casino at Greektown — combined for $98.9 million in revenue during September 2025.

Of that total, table games and slot machines produced $98.2 million, while retail sports betting contributed $747,425.

Table Games & Slot Machines

  • Revenue from table games and slots fell 3.0% year-over-year compared with September 2024 and was down 7.1% from August 2025.
  • For the first nine months of 2025, combined table games and slots revenue declined 1.4% year-over-year.

Casino-specific results vs. September 2024:

  • MGM Grand Detroit: $45.9 million (down 3.8%)
  • MotorCity Casino: $28.9 million (down 7.2%)
  • Hollywood Casino at Greektown: $23.4 million (up 4.5%)

The three casinos collectively paid $8.0 million in state gaming taxes in September, compared with $8.2 million a year earlier. They also submitted $16.1 million in wagering taxes and development agreement payments to the City of Detroit.
