CLEVELAND – Ahead of tonight’s matchup against the Cleveland Guardians, the Chicago White Sox have made roster adjustments, placing outfielder Andrew Benintendi on the 10-day injured list (retroactive to April 7) due to a left adductor strain and recalling outfielder Greg Jones from Triple-A Charlotte.

Jones, 27, has appeared in nine games for Charlotte this season, recording a .129 batting average (4-for-31) with one double, one home run, five RBIs, and four stolen bases. The White Sox claimed Jones off waivers from the Colorado Rockies on March 26. A switch-hitter standing 6 feet tall and weighing 175 pounds, Jones debuted in the majors with the Rockies last season, hitting .200 (1-for-5) with a home run and an RBI across six games. He will wear jersey No. 30 for the White Sox.
Benintendi, 30, exited the April 6 game in Detroit during the fifth inning. Through nine games this season, he has posted a strong .290/.333/.464 slash line with two home runs, six RBIs, and five runs scored. This is Benintendi’s third season with the White Sox.
