MINNEAPOLIS – The Chicago White Sox have announced the following two roster moves:

  •  Recalled from Class AAA Charlotte (1): RHP Prelander Berroa;
  •  Placed on 15-day injured list (1): RHP Drew Thorpe with a right flexor strain (retroactive to August 1).

Berroa, 24, is 3-5 with a 6.69 ERA (30 ER/40.1 IP) and 45 strikeouts in 37 relief appearances with Charlotte this season. Six of his last seven appearances since June 29 have been scoreless (4 ER/8.0 IP). Berroa worked 0.1 scoreless IP in his only appearance with the White Sox in 2024 on April 30 vs. Minnesota.

Berroa was acquired with outfielder Zach DeLoach and a Competitive Balance B selection (LHP Blake Larson) in the 2024 First-Year Player Draft from the Seattle Mariners in exchange for right-hander Gregory Santos on February 3.

Thorpe, 23, is 3-3 with a 5.48 ERA (27 ER/44.1 P), .212 (35-165) opponents average and 25 strikeouts in nine starts with Chicago since his contract was selected from Class AA Birmingham on June 11.
