CHICAGO – Ahead of tonight’s series opener against Boston, the Chicago White Sox have made several roster adjustments. The team has selected the contract of infielder Chase Meidroth from Class AAA Charlotte and optioned outfielder Greg Jones back to Charlotte. To accommodate Meidroth on the 40-man roster, the White Sox designated right-handed pitcher Justin Anderson for assignment.

Chase Meidroth, 24, is ranked as the No. 8 prospect in the White Sox organization by MLB.com. In his debut season with Charlotte, Meidroth is slashing .267/.450/.500 (8-for-30) with a double, three home runs, four RBIs, 11 runs scored, and eight walks across nine games. Meidroth, standing 5-foot-10 and weighing 190 pounds, joined the White Sox system on December 11, 2024, as part of a trade with the Boston Red Sox. The deal also included catcher Kyle Teel, outfielder Braden Montgomery, and right-handed pitcher Wikelman González in exchange for left-handed pitcher Garrett Crochet.

Meidroth’s career minor-league stats include a .285/.425/.414 slash line, featuring 45 doubles, 23 home runs, 133 RBIs, 195 runs scored, and 207 walks across 264 games. He led all Minor League Baseball players with 105 walks in 2024 and ranked third in on-base percentage with .437. Originally drafted by the Red Sox in the fourth round of the 2022 MLB Draft out of the University of San Diego, Meidroth hails from Torrance, California, and will wear uniform No. 10 for the White Sox.

Greg Jones, 27, was recalled from Charlotte on Wednesday but did not get the opportunity to play during his brief stint with the White Sox.

Justin Anderson, 32, has made four appearances for Charlotte this season, allowing five runs in 5.2 innings pitched. Last year, he recorded a 4.39 ERA (26 ER/53.1 IP) with 57 strikeouts across 56 appearances for the White Sox.

Following these moves, the White Sox maintain their 40-man roster count at 40.
