The Chicago White Sox have announced roster moves ahead of tonight’s game against the Milwaukee Brewers:

  • Fraser Ellard, a left-handed pitcher, has been reinstated from the 15-day injured list following his rehabilitation assignment at Triple-A Charlotte.
  • Tyler Gilbert, also a left-handed pitcher, has been optioned to Triple-A Charlotte to make room on the 26-man roster.

Fraser Ellard

Ellard, 27, was sidelined on April 11 (retroactive to April 10) with a strained right hamstring. In five relief appearances this season, he has posted a 0-1 record with a 5.40 ERA (3 earned runs over 5.0 innings) and six strikeouts. This marks his second season with the White Sox.

Tyler Gilbert

Gilbert, 31, has appeared in nine games (three starts) during his first season with the White Sox, recording a 1-1 record and a 5.59 ERA (6 earned runs over 9.2 innings) with 14 strikeouts. Notably, he served as the opener in three of Chicago’s last four games, becoming the first Major League pitcher to achieve this since Zack Greinke in 2012.

These moves reflect the White Sox’s ongoing efforts to manage their pitching staff effectively as they navigate the season.
