CHICAGO – The Chicago Cubs have announced the recall of right-handed pitcher Gavin Hollowell from Triple-A Iowa. In a corresponding move, left-handed pitcher Jordan Wicks has been optioned to Iowa.
Hollowell’s Season Performance
Hollowell, 27, has appeared in five games with the Iowa Cubs this season, posting a 1-0 record with a 4.26 ERA (3 ER/6.1 IP) and an impressive 14.21 strikeouts per nine innings pitched. He recorded eight strikeouts in his last two outings, including a hitless and scoreless 2.0-inning performance against St. Paul, where he struck out five batters.

Hollowell made one relief appearance for the Cubs last season, pitching 1.1 innings with two hits and one strikeout after being claimed off waivers on August 23, 2024.
