NEW YORK – Chicago Blackhawks forward Frank Nazar has been suspended for two games, without pay, for an illegal check to the head of New York Islanders forward Bo Horvat during NHL Game No. 62 in New York on Thursday, Oct. 8, the National Hockey League’s Department of Player Safety announced today.
The incident occurred at 18:25 of the third period. Nazar was assessed a match penalty.
Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement and, based on his average annual salary, Nazar will forfeit $68,041.14. The money goes to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.
