TORONTO – The Canadian Football League’s Department of Health, Safety and Integrity issued three fines stemming from Week 9 action, the league announced Thursday. The department oversees all non‑suspendible discipline, while suspendible offences fall under the Office of the Commissioner.
The disciplinary group — led by Chief Football Operations Officer Greg Dick and supported by Vice‑President of Officiating Darren Hackwood, Vice‑President of Football Operations and Player Safety Eric Noivo, and Associate Vice‑President of Football Operations Ryan Janzen — reviewed multiple incidents from the week’s slate of games.
Montreal defensive back Najee Murray was fined for delivering a high hit on Ottawa quarterback Jake Maier. Montreal linebacker Tyrell Richards received a fine for a high hit on Ottawa wide receiver Justin Hardy. Edmonton defensive lineman Noah Taylor was fined for making contact with an official.
In accordance with CFL policy, the league does not disclose the monetary amounts of player fines, nor does it announce discipline related to dress‑code violations, team or staff infractions, or penalties involving players who have since been released.
