TORONTO – With Toronto and Vancouver set to host 13 matches during the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the Canadian Football League (CFL), along with the Toronto Argonauts and BC Lions, will temporarily relocate select home games during the first half of the 2026 season to make way for the global event.

Alternate Venues for Argonauts and Lions
The Argonauts will play one home game each at Hamilton Stadium, Mosaic Stadium in Regina, and Princess Auto Stadium in Winnipeg, facing the respective host teams while BMO Field is in use for World Cup fixtures. The BC Lions will relocate two home games, with full details and ticketing information to be announced in a forthcoming release.

CFL Commissioner Stewart Johnston shared his enthusiasm:

“The World Cup is a cultural celebration that brings nations together. As Toronto and Vancouver welcome the world, we’re thankful to the cities stepping up to host the Argonauts and Lions during this historic moment.”

Post-World Cup Adjustments
Following the tournament, BMO Field will undergo retrofitting to return to CFL standards. Both teams will have a home-heavy schedule in the second half of the season, allowing fans to rally behind their clubs as the league builds toward the 113th Grey Cup in Calgary.

Johnston added:

“Toronto and Vancouver are world-class cities with world-class stadiums. We’re proud to see them shine on the global stage and equally committed to ensuring our fans have every chance to support their teams throughout the season.”

Additional details from both clubs will be shared in the coming months. The full 2026 CFL schedule will be released during the offseason.
