Offensive Player of the Week
Tyler Knoop | QB | Stony Brook
Knoop was 34-of-40 (85%) passing for a career-high 387 yards and a program-record six touchdowns in Stony Brook’s 52-24 win at Towson. The grad student guided an offense that piled up 512 yards and scored its most points since 2017. Knoop’s six TD passes are tied for the most in FCS this season and the 387 yards are the 5th-most in SBU history.
Defensive Player of the Week
Xavier Holmes | DL | Maine
Holmes contributed six tackles, 1.5 sacks, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery and a career-high five quarterback hurries to spur a dominant defensive effort in Maine’s 35-7 win over #5 Villanova. The Black Bears recorded seven sacks, forced four turnovers, held VU to 214 yards (35 rushing) and pitched a shutout until the final two minutes
Co-Defensive Player of the Week
Fredrick Mallay | DB | Rhode Island
Mallay recorded eight tackles, a TFL, a forced fumble and an interception as Rhode Island beat UNH, 26-9, for its first win in Durham since 1995. His third-quarter interception led to a field goal that put the Rams ahead to stay. Mallay was part of a URI defense that held UNH to 235 yards and just a field goal until the game’s final minute.
Special Teams Player of the Week
Chandler Brayboy | KR/WR | Elon
Brayboy tied a CAA record by returning two kickoff s for touchdowns in Elon’s 30-14 victory at UAlbany. The senior broke loose for a 94-yard return in the first quarter, which was the first for EU since 2019, and then scored on a 93-yarder in the third period. Brayboy added 55 receiving yards in the game and went over 2,000 receiving yards for his career.
Rookie of the Week
TJ Thomas | RB | Elon
Thomas rushed for a team-high 138 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries (7.3 ypc) in Elon’s 30-14 win at UAlbany. His 8-yard scoring run on the opening drive of the second half gave Elon a 24-7 lead. It was the sixth straight game with a TD for Thomas, who topped the 100-yard mark for the third Ɵ me.

Five CAA teams are ranked in the FCS Top 25 again this week. Villanova is ranked #13 by Stats Perform and #14 by the AFCA, while William & Mary is ranked #16 by Stats and #15 by the AFCA. Richmond moved up to #13 in the AFCA poll and is #18 in the Stats poll, Rhode Island rose to #15 in the Stats poll and #16 in the AFCA poll, and Stony Brook is ranked #24 by the AFCA and getting votes in the Stats poll. Monmouth and UNH received votes in both polls, and Maine got votes in the Stats poll. Hampton was ranked #7 in the HBCU Media poll, administered by BOXTOROW.

UALBANY 3-4 Overall/1-2 CAAFB
• UA’s defense held Elon to 281 total yards, and just 67 passing, last week. The Great Danes have allowed 310 yards or less defensively in the past three games. • Myles Burkett threw for 214 yards and a TD vs. Elon. He has passed for 200+ yards in 5 of his last 6 games and has a TD pass in all seven contests this season. • MarQeese Dietz made a season-best 6 catches for 97 yards against Elon. • Dontae Lunan made a season-high 18 tackles vs. EU and tops UA with 71 stops.
BRYANT 2-5 Overall/0-3 CAAFB
• Landon Ruggieri had 5 catches for 95 yards at Monmouth. He’s 2nd in FCS in receiving TD’s (9) and 4th in receiving yards (694). • Jarrett Guest has thrown for 230+ yards in 5 of his last 6 games. He ranks 17th in FCS in passing yards (239.1 ypg). • Keylijah Williams set BU and CAA records with 279 kick return yards against MU. He had an 86-yard return for a TD, which was the first of his career. • Hollis Dirstine tallied a career-high 7 tackles vs. Monmouth.
CAMPBELL 2-5 Overall/0-3 CAAFB
• Chad Mascoe threw for 320 yards and a season-high 4 TD’s at W&M, which was his third 300+ yard passing performance. He ranks 13th in FCS in pass efficiency (156.9). • Sincere Brown had 6 catches for 80 yards and a TD at W&M. He ranks 15th in FCS in receiving yards (604) and 9th in rec. TD’s (6). • VJ Wilkins added 7 receptions for 54 yards and 2 TD’s at W&M. He has 268 yards and 4 TD’s receiving and has run for 102 yards. • Jalen Brooks made a career-high 19 tackles at W&M with 3.0 TFL’s and a sack.
DELAWARE 6-1 Overall/3-1 CAAFB
• Phil Lutz had 6 receptions for 93 yards and a TD at UR, extending his UD record with a TD catch in 7 straight games. He’s 2nd in FCS with 9 TD’s and 8th in receiving yards (640). • Zach Marker threw for 251 yards and a TD at UR. He has passed for 250+ yards in the past 3 games and has 10 TD’s with 0 int. • Ty Davis had a team-high 7 tackles and 2.0 TFL’s at UR. He’s 2nd at UD with 26 stops. • Melkart Abou-Jaoude recorded a pair of sacks at UR and leads the Blue Hens and ranks 19th in FCS with 5.5 for the year.
ELON 2-5 Overall/1-2 CAAFB

• Rallied from a 14-point deficit to post a 59- 17 win at N.C. A&T. Hampton has scored 27 or more points in 6 of its 7 games. • Brennan Ridley made 6 catches for 98 yards and a TD at A&T. He has 14 receptions for 219 yards and 3 TD’s in the past 2 games. • Hampton ranks 18th in FCS in rushing (195.0 ypg). The Pirates have run for over 170 yards in five of their seven contests. • Corey Yeoman had 8 tackles, 4.5 TFL’s and 1.5 sacks at A&T. He has 39 stops and a team-best 5.5 TFL’s for the season.
MAINE 4-3 Overall/2-2 CAAFB
• Beat #5 Villanova, 35-7, last week for their highest-ranked win since 2018. • Xavier Holmes had 6 tackles, 1.5 sacks, a fumble recovery and 5 QB hurries vs. VU. He led a Maine defense that recorded 7 sacks, forced 4 TO’s and held VU to 214 yards. • Montigo Moss has made at least 3 catches in every game this season and leads UM with 33 receptions for 361 yards and 3 TD’s. • Carter Peevy was 16-of-18 passing for 173 yards and a season-high 3 TD’s vs. VU. He tops the CAA in completion pct. (69.0%).
MONMOUTH 4-3 Overall/2-1 CAAFB
• MU leads FCS in total offense (525.4 ypg), passing offense (326.7 ypg) and scoring offense (44.4 ppg). The Hawks have had at least 429 yards and 27 points in each game. • Derek Robertson is 4th in FCS in passing yards (2,274) and 2nd in passing TD’s (20). He has thrown for 355+ yds and at least 2 TD’s in five of MU’s seven games. • TJ Speight had 7 catches for 51 yards and 2 TD’s and added a 64-yard TD run vs. Bryant. • Israel Clark-White had a team-high 7 tackles, 2 QB hurries and an interception vs. BU.
UNH 4-3 Overall/2-1 CAAFB
• Logan Tomlinson made 8 catches for 57 yards and a TD vs. URI. He leads UNH with 48 receptions for 505 yards and 6 TD’s and is 6th in FCS in catches and 9th in TD’s. • Josiah Silver tallied a career-high 4.0 sacks vs. Elon and ranks 3rd in FCS with 7.5 for the year. He has 37 total tackles and 12.5 TFL’s. • Seth Morgan has thrown for 250+ yards three times. He’s 33rd in FCS in passing (210.1 ypg) and 11th in pass TD’s (15). • Wande Owens has made at least 9 tackles in 6 of UNH’s 7 games and has 65 for the year.
NORTH CAROLINA A&T 1-6 Overall/0-3 CAAFB
• JusÆŸ n Fomby was 19-of-32 passing for 240 yards and a TD vs. Hampton. It was his 3rd straight game with 200+ passing yards. • Ger-Cari Caldwell made a team-high 5 catches for 98 yards vs. Hampon. It was his fourth game with at least five receptions. • Kade Moledor recorded a season-high 10 tackles against Hampton. He’s 2nd on the team with 37 stops. • Andrew Brown booted a 31-yard field goal vs. Hampton and is 11-for-14 on FG’s, including two FG’s of over 50 yards.
RHODE ISLAND 6-1 Overall/3-0 CAAFB
• On a 5-game win streak after beating UNH in Durham for the first time since 1995. • Malik Grant rushed for 127 yards at UNH, which was his 3rd 100+-yard outing in the past four games. • URI’s defense recorded four sacks and held UNH to 235 yards, including 20 rushing. It was the third ÆŸ me this season they have held an opponent under 300 yards. • A.J. Pena made 2.0 sacks at UNH and ranks 6th in FCS with 7.0 for the season. He’s 4th on URI’s career list with 21.5 sacks.
RICHMOND 5-2 Overall/3-0 CAAFB
• On a 5-game win streak after defeating Delaware, 28-9. UR is 3-0 in CAA play for the first time in a full season since 2015. • Camden Coleman passed for 194 yards and 2 TD’s and added a career-high 79 yards and a TD on the ground vs. UD. • Zach Palmer-Smith ran for 68 yards and a TD vs. UD. Over the past five games, he’s averaged 134.2 ypg with 8 TD’s. • Jeremiah Grant leads the CAA and is 2nd in FCS with 8.5 sacks. He has had at least a half-sack in 6 of UR’s 7 games.
STONY BROOK 5-2 Overall/2-1 CAAFB
• Off to their best start (5-2) since 2018 after a 52-24 win at Towson last week. • Tyler Knoop was 34-of-40 passing for a career-high 387 yards and a program-record 6 TD’s at TU. It was the 5th-most passing yards in SBU history. • Roland Dempster ran for 103 yards at Towson, which was his 5th game 100+ yard outing. He’s 9th in FCS in rushing (803 yds) and 3rd with 12 rushing TD’s. • Rushawn Lawrence had 2.0 sacks at TU and is 19th in FCS with 5.5 for the season.
TOWSON 3-4 Overall/1-23 CAAFB
• Towson ran for a season-high 247 yards vs. SBU last week. The Tigers rank 24th in FCS in rushing offense (185.4 ypg). • Tyrell Greene ran for 115 yards and a TD vs. SBU. He’s averaging 101.3 ypg over the past four games with 3 TD’s. • Devin Matthews had a 75-yard TD run on Towson’s first offensive play vs. SBU. His 25 career TD’s are one shy of 6th place on TU’s all-ÆŸ me list and he’s 65 yards shy of 2,000. • John Gioia recorded a team-high 11 tackles and a TFL against Stony Brook.
VILLANOVA 5-2 Overall/2-1 CAAFB
• Suffered their first loss to an FCS opponent last week, falling 35-7 at Maine. • Freshman David Avit ran for a team-best 39 yards at Maine. He has tallied 382 yards and 5 TD’s over the past 3 games. • Lucas Kopecky caught a season-high 4 passes for 43 yards at Maine. He was a 4-year player for the VU lacrosse team before joining the football team in 2024. • Ethan Potter recorded a team-high 10 tackles at Maine. It was his 2nd game this season and 4th in his career with 10+ stops.
WILLIAM & MARY 5-2 Overall/2-1 CAAFB
• Rushed for 355 yards in a 35-28 win over Campbell last week. It was the 3rd time in the last 4 games with 350+ rushing yards. • Bronson Yoder ran for a team-high 131 yards and a TD vs. CU and has run for 640 yards and 6 TD’s over the past five games. • W&M ranks 3rd in FCS in rushing (277.0 ypg), 4th in 3rd down conversion pct. (.528) and 9th in total offense (455.9 ypg). • Jalen Jones had 3 pass breakups vs. CU and leads FCS in PBU’s (14) and passes defended (16). He leads W&M with 2 interceptions.
