CFB-D2: Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Week 3 Release and Previews

The SIAC will participate in eight matchups this week, with five games televised/streamed nationally. Here’s a list of the matchups and where to watch the games.

BENEDICT VS. EDWARD WATERS – ESPN 2
Thursday, Sept. 19 at 8 p.m. ET

Benedict, coming off a 32-27 loss to Lane, will host Edward Waters this weekend at Charlie W. Johnson Stadium.

Edward Waters, on the road for the fourth week in a row, is looking to bounce back after losing the last two games to non-conference foes.

Game History: 3-1 Benedict (since 2001)

TUSKEGEE VS. SAVANNAH STATE– Golden Tiger Sports Network
Saturday, Sept. 21 at 2 p.m. ET

Tuskegee, coming off a bye week, will host Savannah State in its home opener at Cleve L. Abbott Memorial Alumni Stadium.

Savannah State fell to Central State 10-3 at home last week.

Both teams are still in search of their first win of the season.

Game History: 2-0 Tuskegee (since 2000)

CLARK ATLANTA AT BETHUNE-COOKMAN – HBCU Go
Saturday, Sept. 21 at 3 p.m. ET

Clark Atlanta will travel to Florida for the second consecutive week to face Bethune-Cookman at Daytona Stadium.

Last week, the Panthers game at Florida Memorial ended in a 28-28 tie due to severe weather.

Bethune-Cookman, seeking its first win, is coming off a 59-31 loss to Western Michigan, marking its third consecutive loss of the season.

Game History: 1-0 Bethune-Cookman (since 1965)

MILES VS. LANE – ESPN+
Saturday, Sept. 14 at 5 p.m. ET
Prince Hall Americanism Football Classic

Miles, following a bye week, is set to host Lane College at Sloan-Alumni Stadium for its home opener, the Prince Hall Americanism Football Classic.

The trip south marks the Dragon’s third consecutive week on the road. The team got their first win of the season last week in a 32-27 victory over Benedict.

Game History: 11-2 Miles (since 2010)

FORT VALLEY STATE AT DELTA STATE – FloSports
Saturday, Sept. 21 at 7 p.m. ET

Fort Valley State will now travel to face Delta State at McCool Stadium. Last week, the Wildcats saddled up for a 42-0 shutout victory over Kentucky State.

Delta State is coming off a 21-7 loss to Wingate, marking its first loss of the season.

Game History: 3-1 Delta State (since 2011)

CENTRAL STATE VS. ALBANY STATE – No Stream Available
Saturday, Sept. 21 at 1 p.m. ET
Frederick Douglass HBCU Football Classic

Central State will face Albany State in the Frederick Douglass HBCU Football Classic at the Rochester Community Sports Plex in Rochester, N.Y. 

The Marauders claimed their first win of the season in a 10-3 victory over Savannah State last week, setting the stage for their upcoming matchup against the Golden Rams.

Albany State is returning to the gridiron after a bye week.

Last season, the Golden Rams held the Marauders scoreless in a 48-0 victory at home.

Team Standings: Central State (1-2, 1-0 SIAC); Albany State (0-2, 0-0 SIAC)

KENTUCKY STATE VS. MOREHOUSE – No Stream Available
Saturday, Sept. 21 at 4:30 p.m. ET
Chicago Football Classic

Kentucky State will face Morehouse in the 26th annual Chicago Football Classic at Soldier Field after being shut out 42-0 on the road against Fort Valley State.

Both teams are still looking for their first win of the season after the Maroon Tigers also suffered a defeat on the road last week against Howard University (35-21). 

The teams met last season in late October when Kentucky State edged Morehouse 23-21 in Atlanta. 

Game History: 13-8 Morehouse (since 1998)

Team Standings: Kentucky State (0-3, 0-1 SIAC); Morehouse (0-3, 0-1 SIAC)

ALLEN VS. POINT – No Stream Available
Saturday, Sept. 21 at 7 p.m. ET

Allen will host the Point University Skyhawks at Westwood High School for its first home game of the season after coming off a narrow 23-21 loss to Livingstone.
