WATERLOO, NY – Junior welterweight contender Bryce Mills will face seasoned veteran James Bernadin in the main event of the inaugural boxing card at the state‑of‑the‑art Vine Theater inside del Lago Resort & Casino on Thursday evening, October 30.

The bout, scheduled for 10 rounds, headlines a pro/am show promoted by Rising Star Promotions. Amateur action begins at 5:30 p.m., with the first professional fight slated for 7:00 p.m.

The Fighters

  • James Bernadin (13‑3‑1, 6 KOs) – The 32‑year‑old from Lancaster, PA, is a seven‑year pro with notable wins over Osvaldo Morales (4‑0), Edgar Torres (9‑2‑1), Kenny Robles (9‑1), Johnny Spell (8‑1), and Matt Conway (22‑4).
  • Bryce Mills (19‑1, 7 KOs) – Fighting out of nearby Liverpool, NY, the 24‑year‑old will enjoy strong hometown support as he makes both his first main‑event appearance and his first scheduled 10‑rounder. Mills enters on a 13‑fight win streak, highlighted by a spectacular first‑round knockout of former amateur standout Aaron Aponte on June 6 in Verona, NY.

That streak also includes victories over Daiyaan Butt (Philadelphia), Jonathan de Pina (Boston), Gerffred Ngayot (Buffalo), Mike Ohan Jr. (Holbrook, MA), and Alex Martin (Chicago). Collectively, those six opponents carried a combined record of 77‑14‑1 when Mills defeated them.

Though Mills has fought in Rock Hill, SC; Philadelphia, PA; Bensalem, PA; Wroclaw, Poland; and Atlantic City, NJ, this marks his first time headlining a professional card.

The Event

The evening will feature five professional bouts and six amateur contests, all staged in the intimate, modern setting of the Vine Theater.

Tickets are priced from $60 to $150 and go on sale Friday, September 12 at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster.com.
