VANCOUVER — The BC Lions have bolstered their depth by signing National offensive lineman Hunter Steward and American defensive back Cameron Stone to the practice roster, the team announced Wednesday.
Hunter Steward Returns to Vancouver
- Height/Weight: 6’5”, 315 lbs
- Drafted: 1st round (6th overall) by BC in the 2013 CFL Draft
- College: Liberty University
- Steward re-joins the Lions after stints with the Edmonton Elks (2024) and Ottawa REDBLACKS (2022–23).
- He began his CFL career in 2014 with BC, appearing in 93 games (including 4 playoff appearances), and showcased versatility at guard and tackle.
- After a significant foot injury in 2016, Steward earned recognition as the Lions’ nominee for the Jake Gaudaur Veterans Trophy, awarded to the player who best embodies the attributes of Canada’s armed forces.
Cameron Stone Brings Speed and Versatility
- Height/Weight: 5’10”, 180 lbs
- College: Hawaii (2023), Wyoming (2020–2022)
- In 23 games with Hawaii, Stone tallied 52 tackles, 8 pass breakups, 2 interceptions, and 1 forced fumble.
- Notably scored a 14-yard punt return touchdown and added 331 kickoff return yards in 2023.
- Earned All-Mountain West honors with one of the nation’s highest PFF grades among cornerbacks playing at least half of their team’s snaps.
- At Wyoming, Stone recorded 45 tackles and a memorable 99-yard kick return touchdown, the second-longest in school history.

In a corresponding move, the Lions have released American defensive back Jaylin Williams from the practice roster.
