In a corresponding move, the club recalled Greg Weissert from Triple‑A Worcester to reinforce a bullpen that has leaned heavily on Whitlock throughout the season.
Whitlock, 30, has been one of Boston’s most reliable arms in 2026, appearing in 45 games and posting a 6–1 record, 21 holds, and a 2.05 ERA across 44 innings.
