Boston Red Sox Acquire Minor League RHP Yhoiker Fajardo from Chicago White Sox

BOSTON, MA—The Boston Red Sox today acquired minor league right-handed pitcher Yhoiker Fajardo from the Chicago White Sox, in exchange for left-handed pitcher Cam Booser.

The Red Sox’ 40-man roster is now at 39.

Fajardo, 18, made his professional debut in 2024, posting a 3.91 ERA (22 ER/50.2 IP) in 13 starts for the Dominican Summer League White Sox. The right-hander struck out 64 batters while issuing only eight walks and allowing only two home runs. Born in Venezuela, Fajardo signed with the White Sox as an international free agent in February 2024.

Booser, 32, made his Major League debut in 2024, posting a 3.38 ERA (16 ER/42.2 IP) with 43 strikeouts in 43 games for the Red Sox. The Washington native was signed by Boston as a minor league free agent on February 6, 2023.
