Atlanta Vibe Secure Thrilling Five-Set Victory Over Grand Rapids Rise

ATLANTA, Ga. The Atlanta Vibe (18-8) extended their impressive win streak to 12 games after edging out the Grand Rapids Rise (11-15) in a five-set nail-biter at Gas South Arena on Saturday evening.

Middle blocker Khori Louis spearheaded Atlanta’s offense with a standout .478 hitting percentage, tallying 13 kills. Outside hitters Leah Edmond and Pia Timmer added to the firepower, each recording 14 kills in the marathon match, with Timmer boasting a .293 hitting efficiency.

On the defensive end, libero Morgan Hentz showcased her prowess with an outstanding 23 digs, supported by three teammates with double-digit contributions: setter Marlie Monserez (17), opposite hitter Aiko Jones (14), and Edmond (13). Both teams displayed remarkable defensive tenacity, with Atlanta totaling 102 digs while the Rise finished with 103.

Atlanta captured the first two sets with narrow victories, 25-23 and 25-22, before Grand Rapids staged a comeback to win the next two, 21-25 and 23-25. The Vibe regrouped in the decisive fifth set, securing a hard-fought 15-13 win to close out the match.
