The Oakland Athletics have made several roster adjustments ahead of their next game.
- Carlos Duran, a right-handed pitcher, has been promoted from Triple-A Las Vegas.
- Jacob Lopez, a left-handed pitcher, has been optioned to Triple-A Las Vegas.
- Jose Leclerc, a right-handed pitcher, has been transferred to the 60-day injured list to clear space on the 40-man roster.
Carlos Duran
Duran, 23, was acquired from the Los Angeles Dodgers on April 2 in exchange for Esteury Ruiz. He is set to make his Major League debut with the Athletics. Before the trade, Duran made one start with Triple-A Oklahoma City. Since joining Las Vegas, he has appeared in six games (one start), posting a 1-0 record with an 8.49 ERA.
Overall, Duran has a 6.75 ERA and a .737 opponents OPS this season. He has struck out 18 batters in 16 innings but has struggled with command, issuing 12 walks for a .392 on-base percentage. The Dominican Republic native has a minor league career record of 5-20 with a 4.24 ERA across 88 games (80 starts) over six seasons. He has tallied 344 strikeouts in 282.1 innings, averaging 10.97 strikeouts per nine innings.
Jacob Lopez
Lopez, 28, has made four appearances (one start) for the Athletics this season, recording a 0-1 record with a 3.86 ERA. He has allowed a .355 opponents batting average and issued seven walks in seven innings. At Triple-A Las Vegas, Lopez has been more effective, going 2-0 with a 2.45 ERA in three games (two starts).
Jose Leclerc
Leclerc was placed on the 15-day injured list on April 23 due to a right lat strain. In 10 relief appearances this season, he has a 0-1 record with two blown saves and a 6.00 ERA.
