OAKLAND, Calif. — The Oakland A’s placed infielder Abraham Toro on the injured list with a strained right hamstring and selected infielder Armando Alvarez from Triple-A Las Vegas, the club announced today.

Toro was on the A’s Opening Day roster and is hitting .260 with six home runs, 24 RBI and a .689 OPS in 73 games. He batted .315 with an .803 OPS in 28 games in May but was hitting just .169 with a .452 OPS in 17 games in June.
