WINNIPEG, MB – The Winnipeg Blue Bombers today announced the addition of American defensive end DeShaan Dixon and American offensive lineman Ben Dooley to the club’s practice roster.

DeShaan Dixon

Dixon (6‑4, 247; Norfolk State; born December 16, 1998, Chesapeake, VA) arrives in Winnipeg following three seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars (2022‑2024) and a standout collegiate career at Norfolk State (2017‑2021).

  • Appeared in 42 games for the Spartans, recording 154 tackles, 24.5 tackles for loss, and 14.5 sacks.
  • Earned First‑Team All‑MEAC honours as a senior, leading the conference in sacks (9) and finishing second in tackles for loss (12.5).
  • Invited to both the East‑West Shrine Bowl and the HBCU Legacy Bowl after his 2021 campaign.
  • Signed with Jacksonville as an undrafted free agent in 2022, making the 53‑man roster and appearing in three games as a rookie.
  • Spent time on the Jaguars’ practice squad in 2023 before signing a reserve/future contract in January 2024.

Ben Dooley

Dooley (6‑5, 320; Boise State; born April 3, 2001, Fallon, NV) joins the Bombers after five seasons with the Broncos (2020‑2024) and a stint with the Los Angeles Rams as a free agent.

  • Earned multiple accolades at Boise State, including First‑Team All‑Mountain West, College Football Network Third‑Team All‑America, and repeated Academic All‑Mountain West honours.
  • In his senior season, started all 14 games at left guard, helping the Broncos set a school record with 3,365 rushing yards while allowing just one sack in 428 pass‑blocking snaps.
  • Signed with the Rams as a free agent following the 2025 NFL Draft.
