Veteran Forward Joins Expansion Team Ahead of 2025-26 Season

SEATTLE – PWHL Seattle has signed Alex Carpenter to a one-year contract, securing the elite forward for the team’s inaugural season. Carpenter, a two-time Olympic silver medalist, spent the last two seasons with the New York Sirens and now becomes the fourth player to join Seattle’s roster ahead of their debut campaign.

Seattle Adds an Experienced Playmaker

Seattle General Manager Meghan Turner emphasized Carpenter’s impact, stating:

“Alex is a true competitor who brings intensity every time she steps on the ice. She’s an elite two-way player who has proven to be one of the best in the world for years, and she has the ability to take over a game at both ends of the ice. She’s hungry to win and brings the kind of drive that sets the tone for a team. We’re excited to have her join us as we build the foundation of our team.”

Carpenter’s Impressive Resume

Carpenter entered the PWHL as a foundational signing for New York, serving as alternate captain during her time with the Sirens. She ranks:

  • Third all-time in PWHL career points (43 in 50 games).
  • Third in points-per-game average (0.86).
  • Tied for first all-time in power play points (18 total—5 goals, 13 assists).

In the 2023-24 season, Carpenter finished second in league scoring with 23 points in 24 games, earning First Team All-Star honors and finalist nominations for Forward of the Year and Billie Jean King MVP. In 2024-25, she recorded 20 points in 26 games, ranking third in team scoring.

International and Collegiate Success

Carpenter is a seven-time World Champion with Team USA and previously played for:

  • PWHPA, CWHL, PHF, and Russia’s professional leagues.
  • Boston College, where she won the Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award in 2015.
