Six Unlicensed Gambling Operators Ordered to Cease Operations in Michigan

In a continued effort to protect Michigan residents and uphold the integrity of the state’s regulated gaming industry, the Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) has issued cease-and-desist orders against six unlicensed online gambling operators found unlawfully offering services in the state.

The affected platforms—Bonus Blitz Casino, DomGame, Royal Ace Casino, Slots Capital, Supernova Casino, and Wins Mania—were operating without the required state authorization, violating Michigan’s Lawful Internet Gaming Act, the Michigan Gaming Control and Revenue Act, and sections of the Michigan Penal Code.

Protecting Consumers from Illicit Gambling

“These illegal operators often present themselves as legitimate gaming platforms, yet they operate completely outside the legal protections designed to safeguard consumers,” said Henry Williams, Executive Director of the MGCB. “When Michiganders play on unauthorized sites, they risk their financial security and personal data—with little to no recourse if issues arise.”

Licensed vs. Unlicensed Gaming

Michigan-licensed gaming operators undergo rigorous state vetting, continuous oversight, and strict regulatory compliance. In contrast, these unlicensed entities—many of which are based outside the United States—do not adhere to Michigan’s consumer protection laws, responsible gaming mandates, or fair play standards.

“This action sends a clear warning to illegal operators: Michigan does not tolerate rogue gambling,” Williams stated. “We are committed to maintaining a safe, legal, and accountable gaming industry—free from bad actors who undermine consumer trust.”

Enforcement and Public Awareness

The cease-and-desist orders require the six companies to immediately halt all gambling operations involving Michigan residents or face escalating legal action.

The MGCB urges consumers to use only state-approved platforms, which are listed on its official website. Residents are encouraged to report suspicious gambling sites by calling 1-888-314-2682 or emailing MIGamblingTip@michigan.gov.

Risks of Illegal Gambling

Playing on unlicensed gambling sites poses serious risks, including:

  • Loss of deposited funds with no legal recourse
  • Identity theft and unauthorized use of personal data
  • Unfair or rigged games lacking transparency
  • Absence of responsible gaming tools and self-exclusion programs

Responsible Gaming Resources

The MGCB reminds Michigan residents that gambling should always be an entertainment activity—not a financial solution or coping mechanism.
