The fourth-year goalkeeper remains in Seattle through the 2028 NWSL season

RENTON, WASH. – Seattle Reign FC has officially extended goalkeeper Claudia Dickey’s contract, ensuring she remains with the club through the 2028 NWSL season.

“We’re excited to continue building with Claudia as a key part of our core,” said General Manager Lesle Gallimore. “She has shown remarkable growth, and her commitment strengthens both our culture and ambitions. Claudia’s talent is undeniable—her athleticism, shot-stopping ability, and command of the box keep evolving, and we believe her best is still ahead. Her work ethic and competitive spirit are exactly what we value at the Reign.”

Dickey, 25, was selected 20th overall in the 2022 NWSL Draft and has since become a dependable force in goal. The North Carolina native has made 39 appearances across all NWSL competitions, including 33 regular-season starts, recording 106 saves and nine clean sheets, placing her fourth and fifth in club history, respectively.

In 2025, Dickey has led a defensive unit that has allowed the second-fewest goals in the league. Through nine matches, she has already tied her single-season career high with three shutouts, standing as one of only three NWSL goalkeepers with at least three clean sheets and a save percentage above 75%. According to Opta, she leads the league in goals prevented (5.1)—nearly double the next closest goalkeeper—showcasing her elite shot-stopping ability.

“I’m thrilled to continue my journey with the Reign,” said Dickey. “This team and coaching staff push me every day to improve, and I look forward to growing and competing at the highest level in Seattle.”

Since making her regular-season debut on August 27, 2023, against Angel City FC, Dickey has solidified herself among the league’s top goalkeepers. Among NWSL keepers with at least 30 appearances in that span, she ranks:

  • 2nd in catches (36) and aerial duels won (15)
  • 3rd in goals-against average (1.09)
  • 4th in save percentage (74.5%)

Internationally, Dickey was most recently named to the U.S. Women’s National Team roster for the upcoming FIFA window, following her first senior call-up in January. She previously competed for the U.S. U-18, U-19, U-20, and U-23 teams.

Before turning pro, Dickey excelled at the University of North Carolina, starring in both soccer and basketball. She finished her collegiate soccer career with 81 appearances (55 starts) and 149 saves, earning First Team All-ACC honors (2020-21) after leading the nation with 15 shutouts that season.

With her contract extension, Seattle Reign FC ensures Dickey remains a foundational piece of their future success.
