Ohtani’s Return to the Lineup

Ohtani, 30, rejoins the Dodgers this afternoon after missing time for the birth of his first child. The 2024 National League MVP has played in 20 games this season, posting a .288/.380/.550 slash line with six home runs and eight RBIs. Since joining the Dodgers in December 2023, Ohtani has been a dominant force, tallying 60 home runs and 64 stolen bases in 179 games. His 2024 season was particularly impressive, leading the National League in WAR (9.2), plate appearances (731), runs (134), home runs (54), RBIs (130), OBP (.390), slugging percentage (.646), OPS (1.036), and OPS+ (190).

Beyond his offensive prowess, Ohtani has also excelled on the mound, holding a career record of 38-19 with a 3.01 ERA.

Rosario’s Departure

Rosario, 33, appeared in two games for the Dodgers, recording one hit in four at-bats. The Puerto Rico native has played 11 seasons in the Majors, spending time with the Minnesota Twins (2015-20), Cleveland Guardians (2021), Atlanta Braves (2021-24), Washington Nationals (2024), and Dodgers (2025). Over his career, he has hit .261 with 169 home runs and 583 RBIs.

Originally drafted by the Minnesota Twins in the fourth round of the 2010 MLB Draft, Rosario now awaits his next opportunity as the Dodgers adjust their roster.
