Celtics’ Situation:

Boston boasts an NBA-best 21-6 road record this season and enters Monday’s matchup on a five-game road winning streak. This stretch includes victories over Dallas, New Orleans, Philadelphia, Cleveland, and New York.

The Celtics secured a 131-104 win over the Knicks on Saturday, even without Kristaps Porzingis (illness) and Jrue Holiday (shoulder injury). Jayson Tatum scored 40 points in the win, showcasing the team’s depth. Boston received contributions from Luke Kornet (14 points, 12 rebounds), Payton Pritchard (25 points), and Neemias Queta (11 points, 8 rebounds).

Pritchard, who scored no more than 10 points in 10 of his 16 games in January, has now surpassed the 20-point mark in his last two games, including 21 points in Thursday’s 127-120 loss to Dallas. The win over the Knicks followed a 112-105 road victory over East-leading Cleveland.

Heat’s Situation:

Monday’s game will be the second meeting between the Heat and Celtics this season, with Boston winning the first matchup 108-89 in Boston on December 2. However, Miami will feature a new look this time around after trading Jimmy Butler to the Golden State Warriors last week.

In the trade, Miami acquired Andrew Wiggins, Davion Mitchell, and Kyle Anderson. All three players practiced with the Heat for the first time on Sunday and are expected to debut for their new team on Monday.

Wiggins, the No. 1 pick in the 2014 draft, averaged 17.6 points and 4.6 rebounds in 43 games with the Warriors this season. Mitchell, the No. 9 pick in the 2021 draft, is known for his defense and averaged 6.3 points per game for the Raptors this season. Anderson, the No. 30 pick in the 2014 draft, has played for San Antonio, Memphis, Minnesota, and Golden State, averaging 5.3 points per game in 36 games this season.

Key Players:

  • Celtics: Jayson Tatum, Kristaps Porzingis (injured), Jrue Holiday (injured), Payton Pritchard, Luke Kornet, Neemias Queta
  • Heat: Andrew Wiggins, Davion Mitchell, Kyle Anderson

The Celtics aim to extend their road winning streak and maintain their dominance away from home, while the Heat will look to integrate their new acquisitions and bounce back after the trade.
