Winnipeg – The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have announced that they have agreed to terms with defensive back Evan Holm on a one-year contract extension, keeping him with the team for the 2025 season. Holm was set to become a free agent next month.

Holm, standing at 5-11 and weighing in at 180 pounds, hails from the University of North Dakota and was born on May 14, 1998, in Edina, MN. This will be his fourth season with the Blue Bombers. Holm had an outstanding 2024 campaign, setting a career-high with 85 defensive tackles, which led the team. He also contributed one fumble return, four special teams tackles, and nine pass knockdowns.

Holm was a key starter for the Blue Bombers, starting all 18 regular-season games, as well as the Western Final and Grey Cup last year. He was honored as a West Division All-Star in 2023 and has appeared in 45 games for the team, with 40 of those being starts.

During his college career with the University of North Dakota Fighting Hawks, Holm dressed for 47 games, starting 25. He earned All-Missouri Valley Football Conference honors during his redshirt senior season (2020-21) and was named an honorable mention to the MVFC All-Academic Team. Holm was recognized as UND’s most valuable defensive back in his junior season and was named to the Big Sky All-Academic Team in his freshman season.
