Two legends of light heavyweight boxing will settle the score on October 12 in Saudi Arabia in a fight for supremacy in the 175lb division. Artur Beterbiev (20-0, 20 KOs) is a WBC/IBF/WBO unified champion who’s putting all his titles on the table for a chance to also get ahold of the WBA title, currently in possession of Dmitry Bivol (23-0, 12 KOs).

Both are undefeated, but for one of them, the first loss is just around the corner.

Artur Beterbiev is a Russian-Canadian boxer who’s famous for having a 100% knockout ratio. He’s the only champ in the world to have all wins by KO. He’s strong and powerful, with his strikes being incredibly precise. He lands plenty of punches in every fight, causing damage that his opponents just can’t handle.

Beterbiev is also a very tough boxer, who doesn’t mind getting hit. Although his bouts rarely last over 8 rounds, he is sort of famous for his stamina.

At the age of 39, he also has plenty of experience fighting at the top level. In fact, he’s been in possession of at least one championship belt continuously since 2014.

While Beterbiev is famous for his raw power, Dmitry Bivol is best known for being a tactical boxer. In fact, some fans and pundits believe he’s the light heavyweight with the highest boxing IQ in the entire world.

His ring intelligence has helped him outbox 23 rivals so far, including some dangerous boxers famous for their aggressive style and knockout power. The best examples include Malik Zinad and Lyndon Arthur. Still, the biggest win of Bivol’s career happened against Saul “Canelo” Alvarez in 2022, which was Canelo’s only second loss ever, and first since 2013. He beat him by unanimous decision, even though he entered the fight as a +450 underdog. Fast-forward to October 2024, and Bivol is a -140 favorite.
