Oakland A’s Recall INF Hernaiz from Las Vegas; Option 1B/OF Noda to Midland

OAKLAND, Calif. — The Oakland A’s recalled infielder Darell Hernaiz from Triple-A Las Vegas and optioned first baseman/outfielder Ryan Noda to Double-A Midland, the club announced today.

Hernaiz joins the A’s for the third time this year and is batting .193 with a home run and nine RBI in 44 games over his first two stints. He is also batting .331 with five home runs, 19 RBI and a .869 OPS in 35 games with Las Vegas. The 23-year-old right-handed hitter batted .344 with three home runs and 14 RBI in 20 games with the Aviators following his most recent option from Oakland following the game on Aug. 25.

Noda was recalled from Las Vegas on Sept. 10 for his second stint with the A’s and went 2-for-9 (.222) with two RBI in six games. He is batting .137 in 36 games overall with Oakland and has a .224 average with 22 home runs, 54 RBI and 89 walks in 101 games with the Aviators.
