QUICK HITS FOR PSAC TEAMS, WEEK 2:

EDINBORO- 
Teagan Brown and Reed Martin both earned PSAC West Player of the Week honors. Brown was the Offensive Player of the Week catching eight balls for 80 yards and touchdown. Martin punted six times with an average of 43.5 yards pinning the Colonials inside the 20 twice including a 74-yard punt downed at the 1-yard line that led to the game-winning safety.

KUTZTOWN- Kutztown made a statement on both sides of the ball, starting in the first quarter with an 80-yard touchdown run by quarterback Judd Novak and sealing the win in the fourth quarter with a fumble recovery in the end zone for the game’s final touchdown by defensive lineman Freddie Retter. 

SLIPPERY ROCK- The Rock defense limited New Haven to 2-of-17 on third down and less than 4.0 yards per play last week.

SHEPHERD- Shepherd shut out Southern Connecticut State last week, allowing just 179 total yards of offense, including 68 rushing yards and 111 passing yards.

CALIFORNIA- Last week, sophomore defensive back Khalil Taylor led the team with five tackles and tallied an interception.  

WEST CHESTER- West Chester holds a 7-4 advantage all-time against Cal U, including a current three- game winning streak against the Vulcans heading into Saturday’s crossover. 

CLARION- Clarion is 2-0 to open the season for the first time since the 2019 season.

SHIPPENSBURG- Redshirt-junior Tanner Hess paced the Raiders with 129 all-purpose yards (100 return yards, 24 rushing yards, five receiving.)

SETON HILL- Offensive standouts included Ky’ron Craggette rushing for 104 yards and a touchdown and Ethan Fame, who caught six passes for 68 yards and a touchdown.

BLOOMSBURG- Graduate student Ben Ries led his offense with a 12-for-18 day passing for 182 yards and two touchdowns. He ran for another 20 yards on nine carries and one touchdown

IUP- There was a wide margin in the rushing attack where the Crimson Hawks totaled 159 rushing yards while limiting Ashland to negative one. 

LOCK HAVEN- Leading the way for the Haven, Rocco Daughtery two interceptions. Jackson Ostrosky 201 passing yards, 2 TDs. KJ Howard 154 yards rushing, 7.3 yards per carry, TD. 

GANNON- Gannon opened the 2024 season with a Thursday night game hosting Northwood. The visiting Timberwolves extended Gannon’s losing streak to three straight games dating back to last year.

ESU- The Warriors allowed just 21 rushing yards on 23 attempts—the fewest in nearly 11 years, when they allowed minus-11 yards against Seton Hill on Sept. 14, 2013.
