LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Dodgers activated Walker Buehler from the injured list and optioned right-handed pitcher Landon Knack.
Buehler, 30, returns from the injured after being sidelined since June 19 with right hip inflammation. He made three rehab starts with Triple-A Oklahoma City, going 0-2 with an 8.53 ERA and 14 strikeouts in 12.2 innings. With the Dodgers, he has made eight starts this season, going 1-4 with a 5.84 ERA and 31 strikeouts in 37.0 innings. In seven seasons with the Dodgers, the two-time All-Star is 47-20 with a 3.17 ERA and a 1.06 WHIP. He has 721 strikeouts against 172 walks in 675.1 innings. He was drafted by the Dodgers in the first round (24th overall) of the 2015 First Year Player Draft out of Vanderbilt University.
Knack, 27, recorded his first career save last night, tossing 4.0 innings of one-run baseball. He is 2-2 with a 3.00 ERA in 10 games (eight starts) this season. He has 44 strikeouts in 48.0 innings while limiting hitters to a .201 batting average. With Triple-A Oklahoma City, he was 4-2 with a 3.97 ERA and 67 strikeouts in 59 innings. He has made 67 minor league appearances (61 starts) since 2021, going 18-15 with a 3.52 ERA and 328 strikeouts. He was drafted by the Dodgers in the second round of the 2020 First Year Player Draft out of East Tennessee State University.
