CHICAGO – Prior to tonight’s series opener vs. Texas, the Chicago White Sox optioned infielder/outfielder Gavin Sheets to Class AAA Charlotte and recalled right-handed pitcher Jimmy Lambert from Charlotte.
Lambert, 27, has appeared in three games (two starts) with the White Sox this season, going 0-2 with a 5.14 ERA (4 ER/7.0 IP) and seven strikeouts. He also is 0-3 with a 9.24 ERA (13 ER/12.2 IP) and 12 strikeouts over five starts with the Knights.
Sheets, 26, is batting .204/.268/.328 (28-137) with five doubles, four home runs and 10 RBI in 44 games with the Sox this season.
