The Texas Rangers have announced nine non-roster invitations to their Major League Spring Training camp for 2025

Arlington, Texas — The Texas Rangers today formally announced agreements with nine players on minor league contracts, extending invitations to the 2025 Major League Spring Training camp. Those nine players are:

  • C Tucker Barnhart
  • RHP Adrian Houser
  • INF Jax Biggers
  • C Cooper Johnson
  • RHP Caleb Boushley
  • LHP Michael Plassmeyer
  • RHP Codi Heuer
  • INF Alan Trejo
  • RHP Nolan Hoffman

Additionally, the club has announced the following dates for the 2025 Rangers Spring Training camp:

  • First pitcher/catcher workout: Wednesday, February 12
  • First full squad workout: Monday, February 17
  • Photo Day: Wednesday, February 19

Player Highlights:

  • Tucker Barnhart: The 34-year-old catcher split the 2024 season between the Arizona and Cincinnati organizations, hitting .173 in 31 games with the Diamondbacks and appearing in 21 games with Triple-A Louisville. The 11-year MLB veteran and two-time Rawlings Gold Glove recipient has a career slash line of .241/.318/.351 with 53 home runs and 292 RBI.
  • Jax Biggers: Re-signed with Texas after becoming a free agent, Biggers slashed .275/.390/.382 in 119 games with Triple-A Round Rock last season. He led all Rangers farmhands in walks and was tied for 5th most in the Pacific Coast League.
  • Caleb Boushley: The 31-year-old right-hander has a 1-0 record with a 4.26 ERA in 3 career Major League relief appearances, having seen MLB action with Milwaukee and Minnesota over the last two seasons.
  • Codi Heuer: Re-signed by Texas, Heuer has a career record of 10-4 with a 3.56 ERA in 86 Major League relief appearances. He did not pitch in 2024 as he recovered from a right elbow fracture.
  • Nolan Hoffman: The 27-year-old right-hander posted a 3.88 ERA with Triple-A Norfolk in 2024, leading the staff in wins and appearances while registering a career-high 11.9 strikeouts per 9.0 innings.
  • Adrian Houser: Turning 32 in February, Houser went 1-5 with a 5.84 ERA over 23 games for the New York Mets last season. He has a career record of 32-39 with a 4.21 ERA in 152 Major League games.
  • Cooper Johnson: The 26-year-old catcher batted .235/.355/.474 with 14 home runs and 46 RBI over 79 games with Double-A Frisco last season.
  • Michael Plassmeyer: The 28-year-old southpaw posted a 7.93 ERA with Indianapolis, Pittsburgh’s Triple-A affiliate, last season and has a career minor league record of 28-37 with a 4.20 ERA.
  • Alan Trejo: The 28-year-old infielder batted .143 in 28 games for Colorado last season and hit .265 with 6 home runs at Triple-A Oklahoma City.
