  • INF Justin Foscue has been recalled from Triple-A Round Rock

Burger, 29, exited Friday’s contest after experiencing left side tightness during his seventh-inning plate appearance. In 65 games across two stints with Texas this season (Opening Day–May 1, May 12–June 20), he posted a .220 batting average (52-for-236) with 10 home runs, 13 doubles, and 29 RBI. He ranks among club leaders in several offensive categories, including doubles (2nd), extra-base hits (T-2nd, 23), RBI (4th), and total bases (4th, 95). Defensively, Burger has made a career-high 59 starts at first base, along with five appearances as designated hitter.

Foscue, 26, earns his first Major League call-up of the 2025 season. The former first-round pick (14th overall, 2020) has slashed .259/.350/.468/.818 with 10 home runs, 13 doubles, 37 RBI, and nearly as many walks (27) as strikeouts (32) in 53 games—50 of which came with Round Rock. After sustaining a minor left hamstring strain in May, Foscue completed a rehab assignment with the Arizona Complex League affiliate from May 30 to June 2. He’s seen action at second base (28 starts), first base (17), and designated hitter (7) this year.

Foscue made his MLB debut in 2024, appearing in three separate stints with Texas and going 2-for-42 (.048) with one double and an RBI. Across five minor league seasons in the Rangers’ system (2021–25), he owns a career .275 average with 70 home runs and 289 RBI in 392 games. He is ranked the No. 13 prospect in the organization, per MLB Pipeline.
