Texas Rangers sign RHP Jacob Webb to one-year Major League contract

Right-hander set career-highs in innings and strikeouts with Baltimore in 2024

ARLINGTON, TX – The Texas Rangers announced today that they have agreed to terms with right-handed pitcher Jacob Webb on a one-year Major League contract for the 2025 season.

Webb, 31, posted career-bests in innings pitched (56.2) and strikeouts (58) with Baltimore in 2024, finishing the season with a 2-5 record, a 3.02 ERA (19 ER/56.2 IP), and 2 saves in 60 appearances out of the Orioles bullpen. Throughout his five-year MLB career, Webb has been utilized exclusively as a reliever, compiling a 12-10 record with a 2.98 ERA (62 ER/187.0 IP), 6 saves, and 186 strikeouts in 192 games. Since 2019, among pitchers with at least 190 appearances, he is one of 20 players to maintain a sub-3.00 ERA.

A native of Riverside, California, Webb began his professional career with the Atlanta Braves, who selected him in the 18th round of the 2014 MLB Draft out of Tabor College (Kan.). He has since had stints in the Atlanta, Arizona, and Los Angeles-AL organizations. Webb was claimed off waivers by the Orioles on August 7, 2023, and entered free agency following the 2024 season.
