Arlington, Texas – The Texas Rangers have announced key roster moves ahead of Tuesday night’s matchup against the Colorado Rockies at Globe Life Field.
- SS Corey Seager has been placed on the 10-day Injured List with a right hamstring strain, retroactive to May 11.
- C Kyle Higashioka has been activated from the 10-day Injured List after recovering from a mild left intercostal strain.
Seager, 31, has been limited in recent games, appearing in just one of the team’s last five contests since May 8. After returning from a previous hamstring injury on May 3, he started five games—four at shortstop and one as designated hitter. Across 26 games this season, Seager has posted a .300/.346/.520 slash line, tallying six home runs, four doubles, 12 RBIs, and 15 runs scored. Since joining Texas in 2022, he has hit .281 with 102 home runs and 265 RBIs in 419 games.
Higashioka, 35, missed 12 games due to a left intercostal strain sustained on April 29 against Oakland. During his rehab assignment with Triple-A Round Rock, he went 2-for-8 with two doubles and one run scored, serving as the designated hitter on Saturday and catching five innings on Sunday. In his first season with Texas, the nine-year MLB veteran has hit .254 with one home run, five doubles, and eight RBIs over 17 games. He signed a two-year contract with the Rangers on December 2, 2024.
Following these roster adjustments, Texas remains at the 40-man limit, with Cody Bradford, Jon Gray, and Josh Sborz still on the 60-day Injured List.
