Boston, MA – The Texas Rangers have announced that outfielder Kevin Pillar has been placed on the 10-day Injured List (retroactive to May 4) due to lower back inflammation.
The team will make a corresponding roster move prior to Thursday’s game, but will proceed with 25 active players for tonight’s matchup against Boston.
Pillar, 36, has appeared in 18 games this season, batting .237 with two doubles and one RBI. The Opening Day center fielder last played on May 3 vs. Seattle and has seen limited action in the past week, appearing in just two of the Rangers’ last seven games. The earliest he will be eligible to return is May 14.
With this move, the Rangers maintain 39 players on their Major League roster, alongside Cody Bradford, Jon Gray, and Josh Sborz, who remain on the 60-day Injured List.
