Arlington, Texas — The Texas Rangers have announced the acquisition of left-handed pitcher Mason Molina from the Milwaukee Brewers in exchange for right-handed pitcher Grant Anderson.
Mason Molina:
- Age: 21
- Professional Debut: Made his debut with Low-A Carolina last season after being selected in the 7th round of the 2024 MLB Draft by Milwaukee from the University of Arkansas.
- Stats: Tossed 5.0 shutout innings with 6 strikeouts across 2 starts for the Mudcats. Also made two relief appearances during the 2024 MiLB postseason, pitching once for Carolina and once for High-A Wisconsin.
- Collegiate Career: Went 12-9 with a 3.97 ERA (88 ER/199.1 IP) and 260 strikeouts in 51 games/38 starts over 3 collegiate seasons with Texas Tech (2022-23) and Arkansas (2024). Started Arkansas’ 2024 postseason opener vs. Southeast Missouri State and pitched 5.0 no-hit innings with 10 strikeouts vs. Michigan in the Kubota College Baseball Series at Globe Life Field last February.

Grant Anderson:
- Age: 27
- Recent Performance: Was designated for assignment by Texas when the club signed designated hitter/outfielder Joc Pederson on December 30. Logged an 8.10 ERA (24 ER/26.2 IP) over 23 relief appearances for Texas in 2024.
- MLB Debut: Made his debut with the Rangers in 2023.
- Background: A native of Port Arthur, Texas. Acquired by the Rangers in a 2019 trade with Seattle. Former 21st-round selection in the 2018 MLB Draft from McNeese State.

- Molina has been assigned to the High-A Hub City roster and is not currently on the Major League roster, which remains at the 40-man limit.
