TAMPA BAY – Vice President and General Manager Julien BriseBois announced today that the Tampa Bay Lightning have signed forward Scott Sabourin to a one-year, two-way contract.
Sabourin, 32, appeared in 68 games for the San Jose Barracuda (AHL) last season, serving as an alternate captain and recording 10 goals and 25 points, along with three game-winning goals and 111 penalty minutes. He held the same leadership role with the Barracuda in 2023–24, posting 18 goals and 27 points, while leading the team with 192 penalty minutes.
The 6-foot-4, 207-pound forward brings veteran experience to the organization, having skated in 532 career AHL games with eight teams—including San Jose, Belleville, Toronto, Stockton, San Diego, Iowa, Ontario, and Manchester—amassing 88 goals, 181 points, and 1,223 penalty minutes.
A native of Orleans, Ontario, Sabourin has also played in 47 career NHL games with Ottawa, Toronto, and San Jose, totaling two goals, eight points, and 58 penalty minutes. He made his NHL debut with the Senators on October 2, 2019, against the Maple Leafs, where he scored his first career goal on his first shot and logged four hits with a +1 rating.
Sabourin was originally undrafted before signing a three-year entry-level contract with the Los Angeles Kings on October 7, 2013.
