Six Minor League players suspended

The Office of the Commissioner of Baseball announced today that six Minor League players have been suspended following their violations of the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program:

  • Pitcher Richard Cardoza, who is currently on the Dominican Summer League roster of the New York Mets, has received a 60-game suspension without pay after testing positive for Stanozolol, a performance-enhancing substance.
  • Pitcher Jeremy Castro, who is currently on the Dominican Summer League roster of the Kansas City Royals, has received a 60-game suspension without pay after testing positive for Stanozolol, a performance-enhancing substance.
  • Pitcher Ricardo Estrada, who is currently on the Dominican Summer League roster of the San Francisco Giants, has received a 60-game suspension without pay after testing positive for Drostanolone, a performance-enhancing substance.
  • Pitcher Miguel Gonzalez, who is currently on the Dominican Summer League roster of the Arizona Diamondbacks, has received a 60-game suspension without pay after testing positive for Stanozolol, a performance-enhancing substance.
  • Pitcher Jose Serrano, who is currently on the Dominican Summer League roster of the Houston Astros, has received a 60-game suspension without pay after testing positive for Stanozolol, a performance-enhancing substance.
  • Infielder Christian Suarez, who is currently on the Dominican Summer League roster of the Atlanta Braves, has received a 60-game suspension without pay after testing positive for Stanozolol, a performance-enhancing substance.

The suspensions of all six players are effective immediately.
