The Office of the Commissioner of Baseball announced today that six Minor League players have been suspended following their violations of the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program:
- Pitcher Richard Cardoza, who is currently on the Dominican Summer League roster of the New York Mets, has received a 60-game suspension without pay after testing positive for Stanozolol, a performance-enhancing substance.
- Pitcher Jeremy Castro, who is currently on the Dominican Summer League roster of the Kansas City Royals, has received a 60-game suspension without pay after testing positive for Stanozolol, a performance-enhancing substance.
- Pitcher Ricardo Estrada, who is currently on the Dominican Summer League roster of the San Francisco Giants, has received a 60-game suspension without pay after testing positive for Drostanolone, a performance-enhancing substance.
- Pitcher Miguel Gonzalez, who is currently on the Dominican Summer League roster of the Arizona Diamondbacks, has received a 60-game suspension without pay after testing positive for Stanozolol, a performance-enhancing substance.
- Pitcher Jose Serrano, who is currently on the Dominican Summer League roster of the Houston Astros, has received a 60-game suspension without pay after testing positive for Stanozolol, a performance-enhancing substance.
- Infielder Christian Suarez, who is currently on the Dominican Summer League roster of the Atlanta Braves, has received a 60-game suspension without pay after testing positive for Stanozolol, a performance-enhancing substance.
The suspensions of all six players are effective immediately.
