PWHL Toronto and Hannah Miller Agree to 1-Year Extension

TORONTO – Hannah Miller will be staying with PWHL Toronto through the 2024-25 Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) season as the team announced today that the forward has been re-signed to a one-year contract extension.

“Hannah was a key part of our team’s success in the inaugural season. She is a strong power forward that plays a 200-foot game,” General Manager Gina Kingsbury remarks. “We are happy to have her sign an extension and we look forward to her continued impact on PWHL Toronto!”

From North Vancouver, British Columbia, the 28-year-old tallied 14 points in 23 regular-season games (7-7—14), including two game-winning-goals during the team’s record 11-game win streak. In the 2024 PWHL Playoffs she added a goal and two assists. Miller’s hockey career has taken her around the world since graduating from St. Lawrence University, having previously played with the KRS Vanke Rays in the CWHL and ZhHL for a combined five seasons—winning two titles—and a season with Djurgårdens IF in the SDHL. She represented China at the 2022 Olympic Winter Games, scoring their first goal of the tournament, and took gold with the team at the IIHF D1B Women’s World Championship the same year.

“I’m very excited to be staying in Toronto for another season,” says Miller. “It’s such a great city, with the best fans in the world! I can’t wait to get back on the ice and start working towards our ultimate goal of bringing a championship to this city.”

Miller is the second player to re-sign with Toronto this offseason following defender Allie Munroe. Together, they join eleven additional returnees including forwards Victoria Bach, Jesse Compher, Maggie Connors, Emma Maltais, Sarah Nurse, Natalie Spooner and Blayre Turnbull; defenders Renata Fast, Kali Flanagan and Jocelyne Larocque; and goaltender Kristen Campbell.

PWHL teams had an exclusive window until June 21 free agency to offer extensions to players currently under contract. Per the Players Association, salary terms of contracts will not be disclosed.
