The Pittsburgh Pirates today placed right-handed pitcher Jared Jones on the 15-day injured list with a right lat strain.
Outfielder Joshua Palacios has been recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis.
At the time of his promotion to Pittsburgh, Palacios was hitting .311 (23-for-74) with five doubles, one home run and eight RBI in 21 games with Indianapolis. He also hit at a .362 clip (17-for-47) with four doubles, a home run and six RBI in his last 13 games with the Indians beginning with the action on June 11.
Palacios will wear uniform No. 77.
