The Phillies have agreed to terms on a contract for the 2024 season with left-handed pitcher Kolby Allard.
Phillies President of Baseball Operations David Dombrowski made the announcement.
Allard, 26, struck out 13 batters across 12.1 innings (4 games, 3 starts) for the Atlanta Braves in 2023. In four seasons with the Texas Rangers from 2019-22, Allard posted a 5.85 ERA in 62 games (34 starts) with 188 strikeouts against 76 walks. Over the last three seasons (2021-23), his 6.1 percent walk rate ranked 12th among 84 lefties with at least 150.0 innings pitched and his 3.32 strikeout-to-walk ratio ranked 29th among that same group of 84. Allard also made three appearances (1 start) for the Braves during the 2018 season.
The 6-foot-1, Anaheim, Calif., native was originally selected by the Braves in the first round (No. 14 overall) of the 2015 MLB Draft.
